Marriage Preperation
     Couples contemplating marriage need to contact a member of the clergy four to six months before the wedding date for details of the premaritial preparation. The Texas Catholic Bishops have established guidelines for wedding preperations. The Sponsor Couple Program, in which a married couple acts as guides for the engaged couple, and the Engage Encounter, a weekend retreat at the Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center, are outgrowths of those guidelines.
  
   In some cases, as impediment exists and must be referred to the Diocesan Marriage Tribunal. A decision may take up to six months to be made.
